TORONTO — Any pleasant memories the A’s had of their seven-game winning streak earlier this month have long been forgotten.Now the A’s are right back on pace to finish with the most losses in a season in the modern era of Major League Baseball.The A’s gave up a leadoff home run to George Springer and things spiraled from there in a 12-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday as Oakland wrapped up a road trip with a 1-5 record.The A’s have the day off today and begin a three-game series against the New York Yankees on Tuesday. As we approach the cacophonous Fourth of July holiday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office coaxed residents to turn over nearly 400 pounds of fireworks in the county’s first “buy back” program.In recent years, booms and hisses have become the Peninsula’s summer soundtrack, starting at sundown and going well into the night. (KRON) -- Three suspects are at large from an armed robbery that happened overnight on Friday. The armed robbery happened around 12:50 a.m. at Colonial Donuts.Video obtained by KRON4 shows the robbery in which three unknown individuals walked into the front door and robbed the business at 3318 Lakeshore Ave. In fear for their lives, the employee complied with the suspects' demands. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman got his 2,000th hit Sunday night, reaching the milestone in the eighth inning with his second double of the game against the Houston Astros. Freeman’s sharp line drive to right field drove in Mookie Betts, making him the 295th player in major league history to reach the mark.Freeman was playing in his 1,801 game, becoming the seventh player to reach 2,000 hits as a member of the Dodgers.
