FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys acquired receiver Brandin Cooks in a trade with the Houston Texans on Sunday, adding a speedy veteran to play alongside CeeDee Lamb.Houston gets a fifth-round pick this year and a 2024 sixth-rounder in a deal reminiscent of a year ago when Dallas sent No. 1 receiver Amari Cooper to Cleveland for two late-round picks. The difference in the trades is the Texans will pay $6 million of Cooks’ $18 million salary. The Browns absorbed the entire $20 million owed to Cooper. It’s the fifth time Cooks has been traded, including a swap the day after he was taken 20th overall by Arizona in 2014. New Orleans acquired him for the 27th overall pick and a third-rounder that year.Cooks later went to New England, the Los Angeles Rams and the Texans in trades. The 29-year-old Cooks has six 1,000-yard seasons in nine years, with career highs of 1,204 yards with the Rams in 2018 and nine touchdowns with the Saints in 2015. ROME (AP) — Victor Osimhen combines the characteristics of a classic No. 9 with the talents of a modern striker.Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s dribbling wizardry and passing abilities befuddle defenders in Italy and beyond.Individually, Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia are devastating enough. Together, they are leading Napoli to new heights game after game. The latest demonstration came when Osimhen scored a brace of headers and Kvaratskhelia earned and converted a penalty and set up two goals in Napoli’s 4-0 win at Torino in Serie A on Sunday. The victory moved the runaway leader a staggering 21 points ahead of second-place Inter Milan and a step closer to Napoli’s first Serie A title since Diego Maradona led the club to its only two Italian league championships back in 1987 and 1990.Osimhen started it off midway through the first half when he leaped above the defense to redirect in a corner with a towering header. After a couple of key saves from Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret — who is also quietly ...Baldwin storms home at SDC Championship for maiden victory

ST. FRANCIS BAY, South Africa (AP) — Matthew Baldwin claimed his maiden title on the European tour in style Sunday by storming to a seven-shot victory at the SDC Championship in South Africa.Baldwin finished with a 4-under 68 on the St. Francis Links course for 18 under overall as his challengers fell away. There was no pressure on him as he came home but Baldwin still collected five birdies and just one bogey in his final round for a first win 11 years after he first earned his card to play on the European tour. The Englishman had to put his career on hold in 2015 because of illness and lost his card the following year. His comeback to the tour was then delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and he said his long-awaited victory was dedicated to his stepfather, who died last year.“I’m not 100 per cent sure what’s just happened,” the 37-year-old Baldwin said. “It’s been a tough few years so obviously to get the win means absolutely everything.“I can’t process it right now but it ...Altuve may be out ‘a while’ due to hand injury, Baker says

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve seems headed for a lengthy stint on the injured list after being hit on the hand with a pitch while playing for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.A Houston athletic trainer was concerned Altuve’s thumb was broken but had not received a scan to confirm a break, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Saturday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced a diagnosis. The player was to have his hand looked at by team doctors Sunday. “It appears it could be a while,” Astros manager Dusty Baker said Sunday morning after Altuve returned to camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to a Houston Chronicle report. It’s the second major injury in the World Baseball Classic, coming three days after New York Mets All-Star closer Edwin Díaz sustained a season-ending knee injury during the postgame celebration of Puerto Rico’s 5-2 win over the Dominican Republic.Altuve left Saturday’s ...Colorado could be on daylight saving time permanently if new bill passes

(NEXSTAR) - While a bill to make daylight saving time permanent in the U.S. is making its way through Congress, a separate bill has been introduced in the House that would give states the power to lock their clocks. Under the Uniform Time Act of 1966, states can choose not to observe daylight saving time - the time between March and November - but can't choose to stay on daylight saving time year-round. Why isn’t Colorado on permanent daylight saving time? However, many states have enacted legislation that would put them on permanent daylight saving time if Congressional action gives them the opportunity. A new bill introduced by Representative Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) hopes to do just that. Rogers' bill, introduced earlier this month, would give states the power to stay on daylight saving time year-round. “Remaining on Daylight Saving time could have tremendous benefits for the economy and people’s health. Furthermore, changing our clocks twice a year is an unnecessary and outdated ...Mike Pence calls potential Trump indictment ‘not what the American people want to see’

(CNN) — Former Vice President Mike Pence balked at the idea of a potential indictment of Donald Trump, categorizing any possible prosecutorial actions as “politically charged” and “not what the American people want to see.”Speaking with ABC’s Jon Karl during a taped interview Saturday, Pence defended any peaceful protests that may break out at Trump’s behest, after the former president called for his supporters to “take our nation back,” while still condemning the egregious violence that the country witnessed at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.“The American people have a constitutional right to peacefully assemble,” Pence said, adding, “The frustration the American people feel about what they sense is a two-tiered justice system in this country, I think is well founded. But I believe that people understand that if they give voice to this — if this occurs on Tuesday, that they need to do so...Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum reopens after closing on art heist anniversary due to climate protest threat
