A Woodbridge, Virginia, man faces an animal cruelty charge for allegedly kicking a kitten to death.Eighteen-year-old Frederick Grant Pierce was arrested Friday after investigators found a 3-month-old kitten dead inside of a home at the Stone Pointe apartment community.The Prince William County Police Department said officers were called to the building earlier that day for a domestic dispute. Detectives believe the owner left her kitten, which was a Maine Coon and Siamese mix, in the apartment with Pierce.She came back later and found the kitten unresponsive in the bedroom.According to a police news release, detectives alleged Pierce had kicked the kitten in the head several times.Pierce was taken into custody on one felony count of torturing or maiming a cat. DENVER (KDVR) — A man who was previously sentenced for sexually assaulting a woman was found guilty for a second case that occurred while he was out on bond.Damiage Plasencia was originally sentenced to 26 years to life in March 2023. According to the Weld County District Attorney's Office, Plasencia's sentencing stemmed from an incident where the court said he broke into the home of an elderly woman late at night and sexually assaulted her. Colorado mom killed in Ecuador home invasion Last week, Plasencia was found guilty by another jury of sexual assault.According to the DA, in August 2019, Plasencia allegedly sexually assaulted a woman who had passed out due to being intoxicated. At that time, Plasencia was out on bond and had an ankle monitor.Plasencia's next sentencing hearing will be scheduled for June 16. THOMASVILLE, North Carolina (WXII) — The Grand Marshall for Thomasville’s Memorial Day parade was a local World War II veteran. After the parade, he was awarded something that he’s been wanting for 80 years, his high school diploma.In 1943, Glenn Ray Leonard enlisted in the military. PALM BAY, Florida (WESH) — A baby left in a car while her parents went to church in Palm Bay has died, according to police.On Sunday at 1 p.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Babcock Street about an unconscious 11-month-old girl inside of a car.The child was taken to Palm Bay Community Hospital. There, she was pronounced dead.The police department said the baby girl was left in the car for three hours while her parents attended a church service. Based on the location provided by the Palm Bay Police Department, it’s unclear which church the child’s parents attended.The investigation is still ongoing. A man who went on a racist tirade and wielded a gun back in 2019 on Martin Luther King Day in Miami Brickell, was set to make a plea for his deplorable conduct and is facing charges. Mark Bartlette made a deal to avoid jail time at the Metro Justice building in Miami, Tuesday. Bartlette would have faced up to 55 years in prison, but instead, he will be on 10 years of probation.
